Onwards we ride!

Written by WelchAllyn at 17:44 13/10-2019

WelchAllyn managed to close off season 49 with a first place at Zakouma Lions Chase with their own Viking Hallur Sigtýrsson and suddenly entered division 4, just a mere month after the creation of the WelchAllyn team. While this is a great achievement, our team could not handle the well-seasoned competition in the 4e division. This is why a lot of time and focus was placed on the training of new recruits.

This is now showing itself with a new slew of victories, made possible by our own trainees. This summer sparked the growth of an incredible cobblestone team, provided by the knowhow and endurance of Aras Kerim and Donald 'Donny' Ruiter. These two new recruits completed their training under Freddy's watchful eyes and have spearheaded the 50th season so far with quite a few winnings.
Donny showed his cobbestone prowess not only at the Haanja - Karula (Estonia), but also made a name at the Istanbul Street CB (Turkey), as well as during the Llandrindod Wells - Tregaron course (Wales).
On the Brisbane cobbles he followed Kerim, who became third at the time.
Notable mention has to be given to Francis Nilis, one of our original recruits, who is now nearing his full potential and has already showed at Llandrindod Wells - Tregaron he too can get good results. We can only applaud this and hope he'll get many years to show off his power.

Frontman Freddy notices: 'All in all, the 50th season was one with a difficult period where growth was prioritised, but now we are starting to see the fruits of our labour. With the upcoming Odyssey of the Oryx tour, we'll take our first steps in the grand scheme of tour riding, which we are particulary excited about. We have grown our WelchAllyn family to a tight-knit group of superb people and we fully believe we can now take the strides to show off our skills.'
